A circle of women with a mission can change the world.
Margaret Mead, an early feminist icon and one of the greatest social anthropologists of the 20th century, is well known for this quote:
“Never doubt the ability of a small group of committed, thoughtful individuals to change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that has.”
Carrie Fisher was an inspiration to women everywhere. She broke the chain of silence with her sharp wit, humor, and sass. She saw life through a unique lens. Through this lens, she changed the culture of women in America and around the world. Additionally, she championed other causes, including standing up to the stigma of mental illness. and raised the bar for mental health recovery.
It’s only fitting that we give tribute to her memory on International Womens’ Day. We’d also like to offer some samples of her juiciest, funniest, and boldest tidbits and comments:
