For the Painted Brain Mental Health Concert and Community Talk Called Where Is My Mind.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- Painted Brain, a 501(c)(3) non-profit focusing on creating community in the lives of people living with mental illness, is hosting a mental health concert and public talked called Where Is My Mind.

The concert will take place at The Echo on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park and is free and open to the public. The event will take place on Sunday, May 26. Doors open at 5:00 pm at which time there will be a public talk on mental health with speakers from the Painted Brain Community.

Starting at 6 pm there will be a rock concert with bands from the Los Angeles area.

The event is meant to bring people together around the healing nature of music and also to build community around music. For many people suffering from mental health issues, music and nights offer a temporary respite to the stress and chaos of the world and an unstable mind.

The intended outcome of this event is that people would come together, feel less alone, and more willing to reach out. We know that most folks with mental illness will never get treated and will generally suffer in silence. This does not need to be so. Through this event and through other programming at Painted Brain, we can form community and help each other.

Painted Brain is a nonprofit organization that strives to generate a revolutionary change about the stigma of mental health using technology and peer-driven support. Its mission is to create lasting community-based solutions to mental health challenges and the impact of social injustice through arts, advocacy, and enterprise
