Click below and see how Painted Brain is changing lives.
Through the past several years of a pandemic and prolonged social isolation, it’s become more apparent than ever that community is essential to our health and wellness.
Painted Brain was founded in 2005 with the intent to help peers on their journey to recovery. Along the way we have grown exponentially—from a project to an 501(c)(3)—and our community has expanded with us. We have embraced peers from all walks of life, a variety of lived experiences and vastly different stages of recovery into our growing community because at Painted Brain we believe that recovery is possible for everyone.
But as we have grown, our feedback from our wonderful community members has shown us the necessity of expanding our community center space.
This year, Painted Brain’s Giving Tuesday campaign will be collecting donations to help fund our community center. Over the last 17 years, we have come to realize that our community center space is an integral part of fostering a system of support for peers: being able to see and speak with people who come from similar backgrounds and experiences, as well as who share similar interests is a key to laying the foundation of a strong network of support.
All November long, Painted Brain will be collecting your donations to help our community center. As a ‘thank you’ for your contributions, we will also be premiering a short documentary–Interviews with Artists— on November 29, 2022, to showcase the art of some of our talented community members and provide an inside look into what it’s like working with Painted Brain. Painted Brain is asking for your generous donations to help fund our community center space, and all the incredible work that happens inside of it! We want to thank you all for your kind contributions thus far, and being a key player in how we can continue the important work that we do.
